Since we last spoke, I have taken up Irish Step Dancing.

This is not actually a sudden development. I ordered this DVD from the library, because my sister was complaining about never getting to take lessons, yadda~yadda~day. It's been kinda nice to have the exercise in my muscles, to feel all stretchy. Also, to see that though it's been nearly 10 years since I actually danced I still have a certain amount of form. (I did NOT do Irish Step Dancing. I am not that cool. I did Scottish Highland Dance, which is a very different kind of cool.)

It's been REALLY nice to spend a half-hour or more toasty warm the past two days.

Because I am *finally* getting around to reading the YA edition of Coyote Wild...
If you're in need of a belly laugh (which the winter doldrums really crave) read Sarah Rees Brennan ( [info]sarahtales  ) story An Old-Fashioned Unicorn's Guide to Courtship. Oh man. This story reads like Tough Guide to Fantasyland...only funnier, because it's a real narrative.

After that, or to warm up, read When Lina Went on the Lam, by[info]jeffsoesbe  (Sorry I took so long, Jeff! It's fabulous!)

The whole edition is worth a read, but I love Rosamund Hodge's series she's been doing for them--you'll have to go into the archives for the first, but YA edition includes "I Heard the Angels Singing, Each to Each"

My warning is, these stories seem to take forever to load. That could be Mr. Foyil Internet, who is a flake. I dunno.

And now to share Today's Hottest Procrastination Tool, I would like to introduce you to The Typealyzer.

This Blog Placed as:

ESFP - The Performers

The entertaining and friendly type. They are especially attuned to pleasure and beauty and like to fill their surroundings with soft fabrics, bright colors and sweet smells. They live in the present moment and don´t like to plan ahead - they are always in risk of exhausting themselves.

They enjoy work that makes them able to help other people in a concrete and visible way. They tend to avoid conflicts and rarely initiate confrontation - qualities that can make it hard for them in management positions.

Which really surprised me. I went and tested my old blog, which I felt was much more fluffy, feely, introverted.

It got:

ISTP - The Mechanics

The independent and problem-solving type. They are especially attuned to the demands of the moment are masters of responding to challenges that arise spontaneously. They generally prefer to think things out for themselves and often avoid inter-personal conflicts.

The Mechanics enjoy working together with other independent and highly skilled people and often like seek fun and action both in their work and personal life. They enjoy adventure and risk such as in driving race cars or working as policemen and firefighters.

Well, I guess fluffy wasn't quite the net effect?
I leave you to determine whether this Time Loss therapy is right for you.

In case you wondered, I know what my Myers-Briggs type is, and am pretty happy with it's description--and it is neither of those.
I wonder what my writing would score?
I think my stories are much more *something* than I am, anyway...

Haven't seen much of Myers-Briggs in awhile.

ESFP for me, also, which is a surprise. I've been typed consistently as INTP/J, as in off-scale T and almost no F.

Wish I could load the Princess into it.

F's generally drive me nutz, especially those who work in hospitals--which is where they shine, really.

It's not trying to type YOU through your blog, at least.

I'm an INFJ--the ultimate touchy-feely type. I am so introverted it begins to look scary, on the paper, at least, so the ESFP is quite funny. But my blog may show the side of me that's very audience-driven, since it is my writer's blog!

That seems to would be the case. Everybody has to perform "out of type" quite a lot in real time. M/B Typing is only about the comfort level--preferences.

Still, it's a wonder I blog. ESFP/INTp is almost mirror image. I estimated my mom as ISFP; I was once pretty good at typing folks, verified by the test.

Blogging is an extroverting activity. I usually do go by intuition, although I try to dredge up some physical evidence for my hunches. I think I do little but think. I have feelings, but don't trust them for decisions.

This raises the question, what would we find if we took the test during various activities of the day?

I also find M/B useful in defining characters.

Well, this was a full blog. What were you supposed to be doing while you were writing this??? And what am I supposed to be doing right now? Hmmmm?

I will push the load button for coyote wild and see how the old Pavilion does.

All the pieces of this blog were ready yesterday, so it took about five minutes to write. This is my "networking" time.

...it's refreshing my Friends Page three times a day that's the Not Writing part of the day.
And wishing Emily Lewis were chatting with me on Facebook.

I--I got this:

ISFP - The Artists
[ISFP]
The gentle and compassionate type. They are especially attuned their inner values and what other people need. They are not friends of many words and tend to take the worries of the world on their shoulders. They tend to follow the path of least resistance and have to look out not to be taken advantage of.

They often prefer working quietly, behind the scene as a part of a team. They tend to value their friends and family above what they do for a living.

which is almost my opposite. :-b

I want to do Irish Step Dancing! *jealous*

yay the Old-Fashioned Unicorn Guide! I am still not sure about the ending, though.

What are you unsure of?

Read it again! That solves the problem with most endings. (This, of course, does not work, if an ending is BAD. But in this case, it isn't, I don't think.)
