Sesshoumaru - Sword of Resurrection

Maid Marian's Kirtle or Trysting in Sherwood...

Both up at GossamerSong...

aw, Sesshoumaru's is PERFECT. But I really prefer the colors in the Maid Marian's one. Hm...*eyes that one very hard*

^_^

Yay! It was fun to start from a character and execute the idea--before it's been a bit more haphazard. Except the Raven King and a few others...

Marian is lovely, huh? That was hand-painted, really pretty artisan stuff. I just messed it up. *g*

PS: if you are *really* tempted by Marian, I'd give you a significant discount...

I know. Shameless.

WELL I am a little broke right now but I have work shifts this week that will help aaaaaaaaaaaaaand let me send my mom the link and see if she likes it? she is the knitter in the family. :-D

That's fine.

I just want friends to know that Etsy prices are sometimes what I'm happy to take for them, but not the *least* I would take.

my mom does want to know how you make the yarn--we got the drop spindle part, but do you dye the wool yourself, or what?

I acquire the fiber by various underhanded and nefarious methods.
Occasionally I buy it too. ^_^

I don't do my own dyeing yet. In most of my yarns, I'm hand combining pre-existing stuff. I have a stash from a friend, which has various hand-dyed fibers *she* created, and also some commercially dyed wool.

The Marian skein is made with some "hand-painted" roving (wool processed into strips) by the artisan at gaiascolours.com . I did some of my own selection, taking some sections out, but it's mostly her color-work--which is done by painting dyes on the roving. Some of these can be amazing...

I have a blog about my fiber work that may be interesting along these lines: gossamersong.wordpress.com

Anyway. That's probably more than you wanted to know! But ask a hobbyist about their hobby, you know...

Oh, I love the Maid Marian one. The colours are so gorgeous.

I know. I wish I had a lot more of that stuff. Still about a third of it, maybe?

Okay, imagining Sesshoumaru's expression upon being told that he was represented by a skein of yarn TOTALLY made my day. :-)

You mean the particular shade of non-expression he would have? {g}

Ah, Sesshoumaru. <3 You think you're so tough...

Glad to make your day, darlin'!
