Meet Mirkwood:

This yarn started off as a Childremass batt, themed on (surprise) the cover of Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell.

{I am going to read this book again mostly propelled by my need to figure something more out about that guy...}

I still think it fits in the colors I see in JS&MrN, but as I was spinning it, it became Mirkwood. I was looking up a quote to add to the Etsy listing (here, with more photos!) and came across the perfect one:

There was a greenish light about them, and in places they could see some distance to either side of the path. Yet the light only showed them endless lines of straight grey trunks like the pillars of some huge twilight hall.

...you know. I think The Hobbit is probably my favorite fantasy book. Ever.
Most days I wouldn't admit it.
But while Lord of the Rings is amazing, The Hobbit is like home to me. It has the humor, the intruding mundane, the dragon.

I want to read it again.

Oh it's lovely <3 Hope on Fire is totally my favorite song right now.

Me too!

I've been playing it a lot, but having it stuck in my head even more.
I love Vienna Teng completely right now.

How did you hear it first?

Somebody put it (appropriately) on a Richard & Kahlan (Legend of the Seeker) fanmix.

ooooooooooh, that's pretty. *might just have to pick up knitting because of you*

also, yay the Hobbit! The first book I ever had read to me. While I was approximately -5 months old. AWESOME.

It's one of the first books I remember my mom reading to me, but I was 7ish, I think. It was the first book I re-read, I think, and I still read it every once in a while.

It's probably been more than a year. Time for another!

I'm going to have to pick up knitting because of this too, let me tell ya...

That is gorgeous! I love that picture of the batt, too...it looks vaguely mystical, like a polished stone sitting at the bottom of a murky riverbed.

Also, you have excellent taste in music.

Heh, thank you!
I don't even know if my music preferences can be called a "taste" but it's the first time anyone's complimented me on it...

The bat was really cool to look at, I'm glad I got at least one good picture!
